Babies Arrive

The nestlings and Fledglings have started to arrive,Please if you find a Baby bird on the ground as long as it is feathered and not in danger, please observe it before picking it up, most birds leave the nest before they can fly and hide in the undergrowth and parents go down and feed them, they then encourage the baby to follow them. If the baby does not have feathers then it need to come in to us as they cannot regulate their own temperature and need help.keep them warm with a water bottle or pop bottle filled with warm water and cover with tea towel or similar material, contact a carer ASAP these babies cannot survive long without food.Never feed bread and milk this can be a killer to birds.also do not try to give them a drink as it is very easy to get water into the windpipe and they then drown.
